The 3 Questions of Journaling
“Sometimes, the most powerful thing in the world is a repetitive thought.
But sometimes the most dangerous thing in the world is a repetitive thought.”
Jay Shetty
I think of these as “The 3 Questions.” They were created by Joe Dispenza in his work to re-train the mind. Here’s how it works (I think you’re going to get a lot out of this).
Look at an area of your life, ask yourself these questions, and list 3 things for each answer:
1: What am I DOING that is working for me?
What am I doing that is NOT working for me?
2: What THOUGHTS am I having that are working for me?
What thoughts am I having that are NOT working for me?
3: What FEELINGS am I having that are working for me?
What feelings am I having that are NOT working for me?
The areas of your life can be anything…
Health
Finances
Friendships
Career
Love
Purpose
Goals
Spirituality
For example…
Q: What am I DOING around money that is working for me?
1.
2.
3.
Q: What am I DOING around money that is NOT working for me?
1.
2.
3.
You get the picture (smile).
A Journaling.com member in Sweden (thanks for telling me about this, Petra) is buying a special journal to record her answers. Each month she is going deep into one particular area of her life. She is looking forward to seeing how she changes and grows over time.
The purpose of this exercise is to shine a light on your actions, your thoughts, and your feelings. Because the things we do and think and feel … REPETITIVELY … become our life.
Be good to yourself when you answer these questions. We are where we are, and we are capable of great change and growth. I found these to be illuminating and worth doing again and again.
I would love to hear from you. Hit reply and let me know what you discovered from The 3 Questions.
Sending you repetitious good thoughts,
Rebecca @ Journaling.com
