This is the bath scene from Breaking Fate and I think she did such a beautiful job on it!

I'm always nervous on launch day. Okay, I'm nothing but a pile of mushed brains leading up to the launch too. I obsessively refresh my screens to look at stats and read reviews. I know I shouldn't, but reading reviews from people who loved my story help fuel and inspire me to keep writing.

Of course, I'd still write regardless, but it's because of my support tribe that I share them with the world, even if my reader world is small.

Yes, I'll get some bad reviews eventually. I don't really let those get me down, because I see that as a sign of a wide marketing effort that reached outside of my intended readers, or perhaps not the right mood fit for a reader at a particular time. Sometimes, books are for a reader's particular season, and other times a book hits as a favorite that they enjoy regardless of mood.

As for those who have read Breaking Fate so far? Over 80% of the readers have given it a 5-star, and the rest have been 4-stars. There were a few readers on my ARC team that withdrew from the book because it wasn't the right fit for them, and that's okay too! They are welcome to join a future book that might be more up their feels.

Regardless, I'm very proud of this book, and I think I continue to improve with each book launch. I will say this book gave me an emotional hangover that kept me suspended from writing much for a while as well. My brain begged me to continue writing because there are feels and scenes that it eagerly wants to see play out, but I keep returning to this one scene in Breaking Fate that just gave me the feels towards the end that I'm frozen there for a moment before I'm asking myself, why did I torture myself like that? And then I smile thinking about how it was exactly that I was hoping for.

If you've read the book, do you know what scene I'm talking about? Did it make you throw the book? Cry? Or get super excited for what's to come?

You can message me anytime to vent about the book, I'm here for you.

xoxo

Stevie

Please do not click that SPAM button. I'm a small indie author, even 1 single spam complaint out of my small 3,000 sized list of subscribers sends my newsletter OVER the "green" zone of below .01%. Anything over this percentage causes other readers who want to hear from me to potentially not see my emails as it hurts deliverability to their inboxes.

You are on my email list because you opted in either by grabbing my free book, finding me on the interwebs, or by joining a book giveaway geared towards meeting new authors such as myself. If you found yourself here by any other means, you're welcome to unsubscribe at anytime. I do not go around adding emails all willy nilly. I'm a one-person show here, and can't afford to have people on my list that don't want to be here. I follow all guidelines and laws regarding newsletters.

Disclaimer: sometimes my links have affiliate tags associated with them, this in no way influences who I decide to share with you on my newsletter, nor does it impact your experience with discovering new books. If anything, any affiliate links used help authors, including myself, subsidize the costs associated with staying in business. For instance, using a tagged link helps us see whether someone found our books from our own marketing efforts or through some other means, also with Amazon specifically, that puts a couple extra pennies from grabbing one of our books back to the author from the big company. More of your money goes to the author, and your costs remain the same. My affiliate links have regularly covered the cost of maintaining this newsletter. So, if anything, click on a link for my books, and even if you are not buying my book, feel free to go about your usual Amazon shopping to help support my books through stuff you would normally buy anyways. Stick it to "the man" and support indie authors while you do it. This has been a PSA announcement from yours truly. Sky
