NEWS

I was sick yesterday with some sort of stomach bug going around. And before that my daughter had orientation for Kindergarten! Omg, they grow up so fast! I'm so proud, and she had so much fun on her first bus ride (They did a little bus tour and drove around the neighborhood.)

She's super excited to start school and join her brother. And I got roped into joining the PTA. I had no idea how much they did for the school and ours was super close to not meeting requirements to even have a PTA if there aren't enough nominated board members. I really want my kids to have a fun time at school, and without parents stepping up, there are a lot of fun things I remember as a kid that just wouldn't happen. I remember bookfairs, carnivals, science fairs, dances, auctions and more.

All of those things are coordinated and funded with the PTA, even the student store where kids use tickets earned by good choices and academic achievements to grab fun things, is funded by the PTA's efforts. I'm not sure how I'll balance everything, but I hope more parents will join their PTA, if only to help out at an event here and there, because the more people there are the less work it is for everyone. I hope more people join so I won't be overwhelmed with trying to help. I'm kind of a spazz and I've already not seen friends in months. I'd rather not have yet another reason why I don't have a life, but you got to do what you got to do I guess. If you have kids in school, definitely ask how you can help out the PTA, even if it's simply one evening, or some skill you're good at like making a video to help promote joining the PTA! Or making a flier for an event. Any little bit helps. (I don't care if you're in my kid's school district, this is just a reminder that every school needs help.)

Now, back to books!

Guess what? TKManAteHer is now available on Audible!

As promised from last email! Her Alien Insurgent Launch stats!

According to the launch stats for Her Alien Insurgent it is both my best received book, and my least profitable, all at the same time! What does that mean, exactly?

It has the best ratings I've had yet from readers with a 4.87 average star rating!

53 ratings on Goodreads with mostly 5-star ratings with many readers saying my books keep getting better. Those words are very encouraging, because without those kinds of reviews, I'd be a bit concerned for the Trillume Universe, as Her Alien Insurgent received a slow launch with the least number of pages read in KU yet, and the least amount of engagement during launch month.

There were 30 ratings on Amazon out of the goal of 50 for launch month.

Even my very first book launch Jewel of the Alien Bandit had MORE KU pages read in its launch month when I wasn't known by anyone.

There was a 50% drop in engagement from the launch of previous books to Her Alien Insurgent's launch. Which could be from many reasons, perhaps May is a slow reading month for some, as they may enjoy doing more outdoor activities during this time.

Launch month covered 30% of the costs of launching the book (Not including my time to write it/market it/or any other time investment.) And according to my spreadsheet it may take around 1.5 years for it to cover its launch costs at the current rate of engagement. So, by December of 2026. Which stalls any more books in the series until launch costs are met.

And I think this is probably a sign of my failure to have the book ready for launch sooner and give more lead time between the book being ready and the book launching. I really didn't want to disappoint the people who pre-ordered the book by delaying the launch, but because of the results on Her Alien Insurgent's launch, I will not be doing preorders on my books until the book is ready to launch. That way, I don't have the stress of meeting deadlines, and I know I have the time to help launch the book more successfully next time.

It's also possible that my readers are moving from Kindle Unlimited into a different format of reading, perhaps making the move to Kobo plus? Are you a Kobo plus reader? If so, reply to this email with a simple KOBO! or KINDLE! and perhaps I'll make a switch if it seems that's where most of my readers are.

And the third ding, is even though the book is a standalone romance, it is much more enjoyable to read after reading other books in the series, so it requires returning readers. It is common to have a drop in readership from book to book with books that are not standalone.

I'll have to do a bit of experimentation to see if I should pursue continuing in the Treasures of Trillume series, or consider wrapping up the series with only one more book, and switching my focus more on the Necias Warriors series. I did have an entire plot line for the universe prepared and the main confrontations haven't happened yet, but I'm uncertain if I should consider it similar to life and the story of the universe is never completed or wrapped up nicely.

As of now, the Treasures of Trillume series will for sure have the prequel origin story Her Alien Starbreaker released in an anthology to have its cover revealed in June, and the book released in December along with 8 other completed stories with no cliffhangers for only 99 pennies! But this may be the last book in the series until reader interest increases to cover the costs of the next launch.

I do not personally get "paid" for writing any of my stories yet. I'm still in the indie author stage of building a readership and trying to cover the costs of the next launch from book to book. I had a 3,000 investment from my savings to pursue my author dreams while I'm unable to have a regular 9-5 job to help take care of my kids. With my 3,000 spent, the continuation of more books is supported by readers like you, and we've been able to launch 3 more books!

For the Necia Warrior series! The interest is steady and both books have covered their launch costs. Now, they are saving up to have NSFW artwork of General Sou-el, and launch book three Her Alien Captor to share Commander Tensel's story!

If you want to help support more books in the Trillume Universe check out the books, read and share! Us Indies depend on reviews, pages read, books purchased, and new readership to know whether to continue sharing our imagination in that universe.

I'm sure I speak for more than myself when I say that us indie authors have A LOT of ideas in our head, and it's your support that helps us know to keep living in that world, or jump to a new one. We can't read minds YET, so until then if you like a telepathic mate bond start with Her Alien Prince!

Thank you for sharing in my imagination and reading my Alien Romances!

Author updates/Writing Progress!

Breaking Fate: I'm at around 63k/ 90k goal in writing Breaking Fate (currently available for Pre-order) Goal to have completed by end of June 2024

Dragon's Oath: is the next freebie I'm working on to give to everyone on the newsletter! It's a darker alien dragon romance, but with plenty of humorous banter to help take the dark edge off and of course, lovely spice with plot as usual. This will be a series; I have 3 covers picked up to explore this idea with!

Word Count: 2,379/50K

Goblin's Treasure: is a darker fae romantasy about being abducted into the Goblin Kingdom with Labyrinth feels but older and spicier. So, if you ever rewatched Labyrinth and wished the Goblin King had asked you give yourself to him and he would be your slave vibes, then this one is for all you monster fudgers that would have said, "yes" to the goblins.

Word Count: 14,209/90K goal to complete by November 2024

Her Alien Starbreaker My goal is to have this completed before end of September 2024 for an anthology (Anthology cover reveal in JUNE). Best of all, the personal cover for the book is commissioned by Deborah Garcia! So, this is the first cover I have made from commissioned artwork instead of cover designers! (Note: I make sure all my covers are done by designers that do NOT support A.I., No A.I. is used for my covers, nor my writing. I R hooman even if I do write ABOUT A.I. in some of my alien romances.)

This book will first be included in the Anthology along with 8 other spicy out of this world romances for 99 pennies, available for a limited time, then it will launch solo with the sneak peek cover below, added to the Treasures of Trillume series, including paperback to really highlight the gorgeous, commissioned art.

Word Count: 21,684/50K goal

Check out the Trillume Universe with standalone plot with spice adventures of fated mates, space vampires, knotting, and bonds that will last beyond the stars! All available in Kindle Unlimited!
