Annnnnd in personal updates ---> Her Alien Warrior WON the 2024 N.N. Light Book Awards for Sci-fi Romance Category!
That means out of 1,700+ book reviews done by N.N. Light Book Heaven from Dec 2023 to Nov 2024, Her Alien Warrior was remembered and voted on by staff as their top pick for sci-fi romance! It was an honor to be a finalist along side Veronica Scott's Star Cruise: Dream Dancer, and Peter Fuller's Solar Warden: Skinwalker

Dive in for a later in life, FMC in her 40's, fated mates stand alone alien romance available in Kindle Unlimited https://books.steviemarie.com/heralienwarrior
It's definitely a wonderful present to get at the end of the year, and helps boost my motivation and reminds me that though I'm still a small fry in the publishing realm, that there are readers out there that are excited about my stories.
Not going to lie though, winning also gives me anxiety at the same time. What if my next book isn't as good as my last? What if next year I don't become a finalist or a winner?
My Fantasy Romance Breaking Fate WON the 2024 Romantasy Category for the N.N. Light Book Awards, and Taking Medusa won the Audiobook Category, while last year it won the 2023 Romantasy category!

That's a lot to live up to for 2025! While I'm writing book three of my Medusa series, I second guess all of the scenes and wonder if it's going to be good enough to be remembered in the next awards as N.N. Light grows and perhaps in 2025 they review 2K+ books, and I'm up against books written by bestselling indie authors who are living the dream of having their books pay for their coffee addiction! Every year the competition is going to become harder! Taking Medusa won 2023's Romantasy category with 1,200+ books reviewed, and Breaking Fate wins 2024's Romantasy category with 1,700+ books reviewed... Reaping Olympus is going to have to wow my readers to make it in 2025!
I'm writing book three Her Alien Captor, the next installment after Her Alien Warrior as well! And with Her Alien Warrior winning this year's Sci-fi Romance Category, I worry about Her Alien Captor making the cut to finalist next year. I thought for sure Her Alien Insurgent would outshine Her Alien Warrior and always kick myself mentally about competing my books against each other.
Which is actually why I started writing the dragon romance that I promised would be next year's newsletter exclusive book... as kind of an escape from self imposed expectations.
Beyond Earth Anthology grabbed that wonderful #1 new release bestseller banner during launch week, and as part of my Holiday Challenge, I want to try to read through as many of the books in the anthology before the end of Winter Break when the kids are out of school for two weeks. Who knows how many I'll be able to read through... but MAYBE I'll finish them all before 2024 is out!
Her Alien Starbreaker is the last story in the anthology, so number 8! I think that's a great spot to be in. I know everyone can pick and choose which story to read through the Table of Contents, but some people like to read through a book from start to finish and I'll be the last story enjoyed and perhaps steal a lasting impression that brings them into the Trillume Universe to stay and join my author journey.
"You will open for me, mate, and I will fill every part of you with my seed, with my venom, and my soul." - Her Alien Starbreaker
"I love it whenever he calls her his treasure—it feels like a hug to my heart. Sky has a way of building anticipation, and as a reader, I’m drawn to how she weaves her stories." 5-stars from Pearly
"As always Sky Robert doesn't disappoint, a soul-gripping tale past before the timeline of the series and that shows why the Trills spread the Ganpan-Fal." 5-stars from Sandra

All of my books are standalone alien romances, each a separate complete romance, read in any order, and with their interconnected plots, each book layers and you find out more about the world the more you read. Have questions from one book? Read another one, and you're sure to find more answers, and perhaps more questions as the universe unravels. That's what I love about sci-fi adventures set in the same universe, there's so much room to play!
