Dear Friend,
On October 20, Jupiter enters Leo, bringing the relationship between wisdom and its expression into focus. In my article, I explore the transit through the cosmology of the Ṛgveda and the related verses about the figure of Bṛhaspati in Ṛgveda 4.50. The chapter describes Bṛhaspati dispersing darkness, overcoming Vala and releasing the cattle, and establishing a relationship between wisdom and royal authority. These verses in the Ṛgveda provide a way to understand how wisdom moves from something we possess to something we express and put to use.
Jupiter in Leo is not simply about visibility or recognition. It is more about what we do with what we know. We may possess considerable knowledge but struggle to communicate it, or receive attention without having much of substance to offer. Through the Vedic exploration, I work my way through the relationship between learning, expression, and authority, and consider how teaching, writing, counsel, and creative work can give our understanding a tangible form. Wisdom becomes meaningful not when it is seen or heard, but when it is expressed with understanding and good judgement.
