The Gorgon Monster Refuses to Touch Her

Bought by the Gorgon live on Amazon

Hi, my Wylde-lings!

How's your October been so far? Are you getting ready for Halloween? Are all the spooky decorations out?

I think October is the most beautiful month here in Norway. The leaves are all yellow, there's thick fog on the fjord, and I don't even mind that we don't have that much light during the day anymore. It's nice and cozy, and makes me want to cuddle with a book, which I do a lot. I've been reading more than ever. Also, hot cocoa is mandatory. Every day.

There's a new book in the Monsters' Bride Market series. Eva Brandt just released Bought by the Gorgon, and in the true spirit of the Masked Monsters theme, her hero wears a blindfold over his eyes. Because he's... you know... a Gorgon. Very mysterious and exciting!

Go check it out!

I am a shrine maiden of the Wilds, raised to celebrate life. Now, I belong to a Gorgon whose gaze turns flesh to stone.

My father stripped away my right to choose. He dressed me in ceremonial silks and entrusted me with a sacred duty. To ensure peace between our people and the Blighted Ones.

I walked onto the bride market auction block, knowing I was nothing more than a political sacrifice.

Then Eryx steps forward. The Ambassador of Asphodelia.

He is a massive monster who hides his ruined eyes behind a band of dark silk. He radiates the same death energy that has been destroying our lands for years. With a fortune in gold that silences the crowd, he claims me as his bride.

Banished to an isolated estate, I expect a nightmare.

Instead, my terrifying husband treats our marriage as a sterile duty. Haunted by the violent history that scarred his weave, Eryx refuses to touch me. He keeps his distance, convinced his cursed nature will only corrupt me.

I disagree. I refuse to be a ghost in his shadowed halls. So when the snakes in his hair reach for me, I reach back.

In Eryx's arms, I find freedom. I find a music stronger and brighter than the song of the Wilds.

But our peace is a fragile illusion. An unseen enemy is hiding in the vibrant beauty of my homeland. And if we can't learn to embrace our bond, the ghosts of his past will destroy us both.

Cassie Alexander has a Kickstarter running right now for her books in the Monster Security Agency series. These special editions are absolutely gorgeous! These only ship to the US, so if you're lucky enough to be in the US (I'm not), check out her Kickstarter.

Monster Security Agency Pulp Rack Special Editions from 1978

Monster Security Agency Pulp Rack Special Editions - five Monster Security Agency monster romances as limited-edition pulp paperbacks: sprayed edges, foil stamping, distressed vintage covers, and a fake 60¢ price sticker - because some things were always meant to be a steal. All five come in a collector's box, straight off the trashiest spinner rack from 1978. That rack never existed. So we built it.

Happy reading!
