You can learn a great deal about someone when everything is going well.
It's when unexpected problems arise or when circumstances turn against you that you begin to discover the true character of the people you're dealing with.
Over the past several days, I've had another powerful reminder of what it means to work alongside people of exceptional character whom I'm also fortunate enough to call close friends.
As most of you probably already know, Panama was hit by a strong earthquake on the 9th of October.
Despite the devastation this earthquake has caused and the difficult road to recovery ahead for my adopted homeland, Panama, I want to share something more positive today.
For several years, I've been working closely with the team at Grupo Los Pueblos (GLP), the developers behind Playa Caracol (and seemingly half of Panama, for that matter), a beautiful community on Panama's Pacific coast where my family owns several rental properties and a vacation home of our own.
Numerous Expat Money community members have also purchased homes and investment properties within Playa Caracol.
Two of my most trusted partners, and more importantly, dear friends, Alfredo Alemán (CEO of GLP) and Kiley Herold (Head of International Sales at GLP), have worked closely with our community for several years.
I have immense respect for the way they both conduct themselves professionally and personally.
We've been through a ton of ups and downs together, and my trust and faith in both of them have never wavered.
