I'm safely home after my walk. Would I still like to be out there? Yes. But it's also good to be somewhere familiar (1) again.
When I go away, I like experiencing new things. It doesn't matter if I'm somewhere with a different language. Somehow everything will work out.
And it did. But this time, I am also enjoying being home. Although I made it with my basic French (and help from English-speaking French people and online translators), it is easier to speak English (or German).
It is also good to know exactly where I am sleeping each night. I had booked all the places I stayed before I left, so I knew I had a bed. However, because I was in a different place nearly every night, I had to find my hotel, guesthouse, or whatever. They weren't always directly on the Way of St James, so sometimes I had to walk even further (2).
