What’s Happening In Narelle’s World?
Dear Friends,
Welcome to June! We've somehow reached the middle of June, and I feel like I'm stuck back in May somewhere. Since I sent my May newsletter, my mum has been in hospital, then home for a week, and then back in hospital. A stressful time for my family. I'm praying her doctors will be able to balance her combination of meds so she can undertake rehab, regain her strength, and be well enough to be discharged from hospital.
As a result, I'm running late on everything in my life, including my June newsletter. It's hard to plan anything when circumstances keep changing. I may need to delay my July release of Her Cowboy Blind Date by 30 days to allow time to destress and rest. Stress is a migraine trigger, and I've been struggling with migraines during this difficult season.
Her Cowboy Blind Date is book 4 in the Easter in Gilead contemporary Christian romance series. The Kindle ebook is on preorder for 99c.

My CCR selection is The Words We Lost by Nicole Deese. An intriguing story with many layers. I wanted to discover why Ingrid, who works as a fiction editor, had lost her ability to comprehend written words, and how that plays out in the story. We chatted with Nicole on a recent StoryChats episode and learned more about The Words We Lost. It's the first book in a new contemporary Christian romance series, and I'm looking forward to reading book 2. I recommend The Words We Lost to contemporary romance readers who like second chance romances with depth that explore how the past impacts the present, and include a relevant faith element in the story. My alternative paperback selection is The Shell Collector by Nancy Naigle. Nancy describes this story as the book of her heart, and I can understand why. It's a beautiful story, set in a beach town on Whelk's Island, about overcoming loss and discovering what's important in life. I recommend The Shell Collector to contemporary fiction readers who like inspiring stories that address hard issues, including grief, with a light faith thread and romantic elements in the story.
