What’s Happening In Narelle’s World?

Dear Friends,

Welcome to November! It's hard to believe that we're closing in on the end of 2025 with Thanksgiving coming up for our USA friends and Christmas around the corner. Since my last newsletter, I've survived a Sunday plumbing emergency (hot water leak in our kitchen that's thankfully fixed) and attended the ACFW Virginia Royal Writers online conference. I've also launched my writer mentoring services at my website.

I'm plugging along with my Read the Bible in a Year Challenge. My goal is to listen to the daily readings in The One Year Chronological Bible and the encouraging Daily Bible Podcast - Audio Bible Reading Plan episodes with Tricia Goyer and her friend Michelle. In recent days I've been listening to chapters from Acts.

Paperback Giveaway - A Winter of Sweet Secrets or Girl Lost

My Christian contemporary romance selection is A Winter of Sweet Secrets by Heidi McCahan that's set in Alaska. Jovi is a travelling nurse who returns to her hometown of Evergreen, Alaska, to help her sister save their family candy business. Burke is a bestselling author and single parent of an adorable five year old daughter who tragically lost his wife and baby son in an accident. Jovi and Burke's meet cute at the airport in Anchorage is awkward and embarrassing. Their romance is sweet and complicated by their feuding families and mysteries that need to be solved. I recommend A Winter of Sweet Secrets to contemporary romance readers who like second chances and grumpy sunshine romances with family drama, intriguing mysteries, and relevant faith elements in the story. Read my book recommendation here:

My alternative selection is Girl Lost by Kate Angelo, a romantic suspense novel set in Florida. Luna is on leave from CIA and has returned to her hometown to find her daughter. The story opens with Luna waiting at a diner to meet her mentor. Corbin is a special agent at Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the father of Luna’s child. He’s at the diner because he’s searching for a missing person. When their mentor is kidnapped, Luna and Corbin are forced to work together to find him. I recommend Girl Lost to romantic suspense readers who like second chance romances with danger, high octane suspense, and multiple mysteries with redemption, forgiveness and found family themes. Questions for You

I like reading in a range of fiction genres. Contemporary romance is usually my top preference. Which genre is your number one pick? Or, do you read whatever you feel like and don't pay attention to the genre and book category?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts, and I will do my best to reply to your emails within 7 days. If I receive an undelivered email message, I’ll try again and send a second reply. If you don’t receive a reply from me, please let me know because emails can go astray. You can contact me via my website.

November Featured Author ~ Rose Fresquez

I'm happy to share that our FREE book this month is THE THERAPIST'S NEIGHBOR, a Christian contemporary romance from Rose Fresquez.

Here's the book description:

She regrets turning down his proposal last year—but now, he’s her neighbor. Is he there for revenge or reconciliation?

Growing up unloved, Jenny Robinson struggles to understand affection. Until she meets Ian.

If psychiatrist Ian Langston’s learned anything from overcoming childhood trauma and dealing with clients, it’s patience—although patience alone can’t mend his broken heart after Jenny turns down his proposal. When a new opportunity strikes, he’s determined to win her heart back. What better way than to move in next door?

When Jenny gets the flu and Ian takes care of her, sparks that never fully died reignite, and chemistry sizzles. There’s no denying the feelings they still harbor.

Can they give love a second chance before it's too late?

THE THERAPIST'S NEIGHBOR is available as a FREE ebook download for her newsletter subscribers.

Final Thoughts

Thanks for journeying with me on my often crazy and challenging book publishing journey. If you’re a praying person, I’d love continued prayers that I will write new words and make progress in finishing my Chapel Cove Romance book. I have appreciated all your email replies, prayers, good thoughts, and support.

Blessings and love to you,

Narelle xo
