Strictly's Kai Widdrington shares powerful mental health message
Dear ,
If you are a fan of Strictly Come Dancing - or Dancing with the Stars in Ireland - you will be no doubt struck by the numbers of psychological and mental health issues which the programme is associated with. The high profile news stories of the experiences of the dancers and the stress they can experience alongside the impact on their mental health can help viewers reflect on their own experiences and recognise that no one is immune from a sudden jolt to our mental wellbeing. This week Strictly's Kai Waddington has said "Challenges can come at any time and any place. Mental health doesn’t differentiate, it can affect us all." Whatever else, it is heartening to see a high-profile celebrity use their position to promote a supportive perspective.
This week's workshops focus on practical skills in CBT. Our CBT Bootcamp - Key Skills for Therapists specifically looks at Activity Scheduling, Goal Setting and Visualisation. This special 3-hour workshop focuses on a series of practical exercises for participants to practice with each other and get supportive feedback in a non-judgemental setting. Boost your confidence with clients and supervisors and build on you existing strengths.
On Sunday we have our popular workshop on Imagery and Visualisation, looking at no fewer than 15 visualisation exercises that you can use immediately with clients. These can be very useful when 'stuck' with a client when traditional conversational work seems to be less than effective.
