PRACTICAL CBT Newsletter
by Professor Patrick McGhee, FRSA, AFBPsS, BABCP
Dear ,
Welcome to our latest newsletter. The clocks have gone forward and there is sun in the sky. People are tentatively making plans for the summer and beyond. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end.
I just wanted to share some websites with you straight off. Anxiety Canada have long been a favourite of mine with their work both on intolerance of uncertainty and their support for Canadian research on comorbidity in GAD. I also like the revamp of the BABCP website (but there is still work to do to match the BACP).
This week in our main workshop we will be looking at alcohol abuse. Some great information for clients can be found at VeryWellMind.
What happens when we feel that we are not really worthy of what we seem to have achieved? What is the nature of the sense of being 'found out' as a phony? We will be looking at these issues in both clients and therapists in our Sunday workshop this week on Imposter Syndrome. Join us for a review of the practical treatment aspects of this fascinating condition on Sunday at 10am.
NB Our workshop on Saturday at 9am on Tackling Unhelpful Thinking Styles in Clients and Ourselves as Therapists is now sold out. But we will be repeating it later this year.
