Hello Romance Readers,
You warned me it was going to heat up quickly here in Texas, and you were right. This past weekend, at my son's soccer tournament, I sat in 100+ degree heat. Thankfully parents shared tents and umbrella's to shield us from the scorching sun.
The school year is nearly over. I have three weeks before my kids are on summer break. So I'm deep in the writing cave, getting to know Miss Beatrice Turner and Richard Arbor, the Earl of Bixley.
Miss Turner the heroine of my novella, Gambling on a Gentleman, that will be included in the Wedding Wager, is rather secretive, but what I do know is:
Her favorite color is purple
She is an only child
and
She intends to do an arial act of sorts at Lady Osbourne's house party.
The Earl of Bixley has yet to decide what he shall perform on talent night -
hit reply and let me which of the three ideas you would like to see featured:
a) the earl riding a unicycle
b) card throwing trick - slicing an apple
d) juggling

Mr. James Alcott has carved out his place in the world with an esteemed position at Harrow School. But when the school changes direction, he’s set adrift. He can redeem himself by founding a scholarship program if he wins the annual Duke’s Trust competition for seed money. A seemingly simple task. Until a beautiful and mysterious competitor arouses his curiosity and leaves him speaking in iambic pentameter.
Lady Tessa Harmsworth was denied a formal education by her father. Now she has fabricated the reclusive Mr. Pettibone as the champion of her scholarship fund to further the education of other women and girls. The deception is the only way a woman can enter the Duke’s Trust competition, let alone win it. And Tessa intends to win. Until her annoyingly clever, poetry-spouting opponent sets out to uncover her ruse.
As Tessa and James match wits, their spirited rivalry turns into a passionate affair. With the coveted prize hanging in the balance, will they choose their lifelong dreams or follow their reckless hearts?
