November 14th Perc.U.lations featuring Gabrielle Everall

Be there or be prose!

Greetings all Perc.U.lators!

Only two Perc.U.lations are left for the year!

Our November Poetry and Spoken Word event will be held on Saturday the 14th, at Dandenong Library, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Let's make November go nova by welcoming our feature!!!

Gabrielle Everall has published four books of poetry. She has a PhD in Creative Writing and two Masters degrees in Creative Writing. Two of her most recent books are the second edition of Dona Juanita and the love of boys and the most recent being Venus Without Furs.

She is currently writing her fifth book of poetry which is a feminist critical rewriting of Lolita by Nabokov from Lolita's perspective. It is called Lolita with an Axe. Gabrielle is collaborating with a comic book artist from Chicago for Lolita with an Axe.

Last year Gabrielle completed a poetic artist residency at SomoS Arts in Berlin.

The collaboration between Gabrielle and the comic book artist on Lolita with an Axe will come out as a website very soon

Additional information

If you'd like to attend the poetry workshop beforehand, I will still be holding this one in the Library. The workshop will start at 1 pm and last until 2 pm

Do consider wandering past The Nong Cafe for a quick bite or a takeaway coffee. There are other great food and drink venues around the library as well.

There is free, paid and accessible parking around the library, and the Dandenong Train Station is quite close as well.

The Dandenong Library is a public space, and many young people and families visit on the weekend. Therefore, open-mic and feature presenters are asked to keep their works in the 'G' to 'PG' range for this event.

Perc.U.lations will abide by the Greater City of Dandenong's REACH values: Respectful, Engaged, Accountable, Creative and Honest. If you aren't certain that your work is appropriate for this space, please approach me beforehand.

Perc.U.lations is affiliated with Radio Laria and is committed to highlighting the voices of local women and gender-diverse poets, and other marginalised voices.

We are grateful for the support of @Greater City of Dandenong Council and @Dandenong Library

Perc.U.lations is taking place on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded, and we extend our respect.

Be there or be prose!

Hugs,

anke
