President's Day 2025
The Annual President's Day was held on November 2025.
In a display of rugby prowess the Toronto Buccaneers Presidents XV steamrolled the Captains XV in a match that will be remembered less for its close competition and more for its sheer entertainment value. From the opening whistle, it was clear the Presidents XV were on a mission, racking up tries faster than the referee could signal them. The scoreboard operator was rumored to have requested extra batteries as the Presidents XV crossed the whitewash with alarming frequency.
The real star of the show was, of course, the president himself, who seemed to channel the spirit of every great Welsh, All Black and Springbok player combined. Playing with the finesse of a seasoned fly-half and the brute strength of a tighthead prop, the president’s try-scoring spree left the defense scrambling—and sometimes just standing still, mesmerized by his rugby wizardry. If there was a gap, he found it. If there was a pile-up, he leapt over it. Spectators were treated to a masterclass in sidestepping (and some questionable celebratory dances) as he dotted down again and again.
As the Captains XV tried valiantly to respond, their attempts were thwarted by the president’s uncanny ability to intercept passes, his booming laughter echoing across the pitch as he sprinted away for yet another try. By the end, even the opposition was applauding his efforts—after all, you have to respect a leader who leads by example, especially when that example is scoring more tries than most players manage in a season.
All in all, it was a match where rugby was definitely the winner, but the president was the hero. Rumor has it the trophy cabinet needed reinforcing after the game, and the president’s boots may be bronzed for posterity. The final score? Let’s just say the Presidents XV won by “numerous” tries—so many, in fact, that some spectators lost count and started inventing their own rugby stats just for fun. Here’s to the president: rugby legend, try-scoring machine, and the undisputed MVP of the Toronto Buccaneers!
