The Power of Small: Transform Your Life with the ‘Daily Touch’

Dear

For 10 years my mantra was, “May I live my life with ease and flow.”

There was only one thing wrong with this mantra — I never attempted anything difficult.  I would quit things if they became confusing or hard.

I began to not trust myself.

Then I remembered the old joke…

Q:  How do you eat an elephant?

A:  One bite at a time.

one bite at a time

The ‘Daily Touch’ was born.

It’s easy to overlook the power of small, consistent efforts. We often believe that significant change requires monumental actions. However, by consistently engaging in small, purposeful actions, you can create a ripple effect that leads to remarkable personal growth and transformation.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

Here’s the secret…

1)     Think “path”, not goal. Identify what you want and then detach from outcome. Think of your dreams as a path you want to walk. Maybe a business-building path, or a get-in-shape path, or a book-writing path, or a puppy-training path. Think path.

2)     Then each day, just “touch the path.” It doesn’t matter how much you do, just touch the path.

Here’s what happens…

-        The Daily Touch is so easy to do that you do it, no matter how busy or tired you are. You keep your promise to yourself because the time required is so small. You feel powerful. Your confidence soars.

-        You honor your dreams. When your heart sends you an idea, you listen, because nothing feels impossible. You begin to ask yourself, “If I can do this big thing, what else can I do?”

-        You figure things out. Some days you’re not sure what to do and you want to skip a day. But you don’t skip. You practice “learning by doing,” and clarity comes from walking the path.

Want to go deeper into the power of small? Here are some good resources for you.

1)     Finding Your Path & Staying on It.  A simple-yet-powerful way to “stay the path” so that you can enjoy mission, purpose and growth.

2)     Dare to Dream. How often do we let our fears stop us. The solution is as simple as a daily "stretch." Each day, ask yourself, "What did I do today to stretch my comfort zone?" When we expand our comfort zone, we increase our possibilities, while building up our confidence and self-trust.

3)     The Right Way & Wrong Way to Set Goals. Studies in Positive Psychology, Neuroscience, and Happiness tell us how, and how not, to set our goals.

4)     The Amazing Power of Atomic Habits. What would you like to create in your life? Atomic Habits -- small, easy to do habits -- can get you there. There is a reason the Atomic Habits book, by James Clear, was the #1 book in the world in 2021.
