The 4 most common belief blocks

Atomic Mindfulness Day 7 of 10

Dear ,

Happy Monday to you and welcome to Atomic Mindfulness Day #7!

I was having trouble with abundance and it made me wonder, “Am I carrying around some kind of belief that is keeping me from growing as a person?”

Then I went to a business training and the teacher said that there are 4 common beliefs that people have, that can cause a kind of blockage inside of us. These beliefs can feel like we have one foot on the gas pedal and one foot on the brake pedal.

This is where mindfulness comes in. Once we notice that we are holding one of these beliefs, we can find ways to let it go. Once we see the block, it can no longer direct us sneakily from behind a hidden veil.

Here are the 4 most common belief blocks that people experience. Do you think you have any of these? I have experienced 3 out of the 4 belief blocks.

Here are the 4 primary blocks:

1.    Unworthy. There’s something wrong with me. There’s something flawed about me.

2.    The fear of thinking that we will outshine others and others won’t have a chance.

3.     Abandonment. Feeling disloyal if you become successful and leave people because you have more.

4.    The burden of success. Fear of responsibility.

Do these feel as true to you as they did for me?

One of the ways I’ve found most helpful to get me past these blocks is to “know my WHY.”

I will overcome just about any obstacle in order to be a good role-model for my children. That’s a powerful WHY for me. For example, I want them to see me doing good self-care, having goals and purpose, and aging with vitality. If I start to experience one of the 4 blocks, I remember my WHY and that perhaps I am modeling a possibility for someone.

Life in its many forms — money, health, love — is not a pie with only a limited number of slices. If you take two slices that does not mean that there is less for everyone else. Abundance is infinite. There is enough out there for everyone.

Here’s a short video I made on this topic.

Q: What is the #1 thing you’ve learned so far from Atomic Mindfulness? I’d love to hear your answer.

Sending you love & abundance,

Rebecca
