Hi ,
You're receiving this email because you're part of my ARC TEAM!
You opt-ed in or signed up via my Google form!
If you missed the onboarding email before you can view all the stuffage at the end of this email update.
There are 52 people on this ARC team! That may not seem like a lot for some, and for others it may seem like so many people! To me, it's an indicator of how many super fans I've gained from when I started, because anyone can say "yes" to joining an ARC team for book one, but it takes a special kind of book hero to join on book two when it isn't a standalone story.
If you're on my regular newsletter then you've already seen that Breaking Fate got its first review in from LaWanda! Thank you so much for reading so fast!
My editor Tracy was able to do an extra round of editing on book one Taking Medusa, and I just recently updated all the files, across the board, from the ebook to the paperbacks and hardcover files over the last few days. She's currently doing another sweep through Breaking Fate, so we should have a pretty clean copy of both books by launch in October! If you spot a typo, feel free to email me, and I'll check to make sure it's fixed for launch.
Don't worry, I won't be exploding your email, and this is NOT my newsletter. You are not signed up for anything without opting in. I just think it's nice to touch base, give updates of how the campaign is going, and share news when I have it. After Breaking Fate is launched the "current arc team" is moved into the "street team" group, and you will then only get emails when there is a new ARC to "opt-in" for. At which point, you will then need to reply to that email to be added to the next "current arc team". This way people are notified when a new arc is out, but they don't have to join if they have other things going on.
In fact, my Street Team has over 100+ readers on it for my Fantasy Romances, (102 to be precise!) and 92 readers who are on my Alien Romance Street Team, who have arc read for me in the past, and many of you are on the current team!
If some of you are anything like me, I like to support indies who are in KU, and even if I sign up for their ARC team, I usually wait to read their book until it launches in KU, so that they get the pages read. So, I'm sure some of my Street Team members may be the same way, and even though it kills me to wait to see people's thoughts on my book, I will put my big girl panties on and sit in my corner... as patiently as possible.
Also, note: You are not required to review to be part of my team. You are equally helpful simply by sharing the book at launch with fellow readers or mentioning the book in Facebook Groups. Us authors are not allowed to self-promo in many reader spaces. So, we rely on you to spread the word.
Some books that I'm reading now for new releases are Leanne Bell's new book Of Monster and Mazes! And KC Kingmaker's newest book Queen of Sherwood! That's what's on my TBR right now! So excited!
Right, back to updates! My mom officially finished reading book two today and she not so casually said on our way to taking the kids out for a nice breakfast at a local diner, "So, are we going to discuss the elephant in the room?"
For one, we were in the car, so it wasn't a room, and secondly, we hadn't been talking about books yet so I was like... is she going to complain about the car parts outside of house, since my hubby is working on his car? She did by the way, complain about our house looking like a junk yard...(To be fair to my husband, it's only temporarily a mess of junk parts because he's taking apart the engine bay right now.)
Right... books... The elephant was that she finished Breaking Fate and she was upset with me, but not because she hated it, but because book three isn't out yet. She is now, not so secretly, planning on what days she can watch the kids so that I can write. This is not a self-less act on her part... she just wants to finish the story. Plus, my daughter is adorable, so it isn't much of a hardship. I'm biased, and there is nothing you can say to change my mind about it.
So, now there are officially THREE people, that I know of, that have finished reading my book. Tracy, my editor, LaWanda, my first reviewer of Breaking Fate, and my mom.
WHooooo will be next?
Is it you?
(Grabby hand motions) Let me Lure you into choosing Breaking Fate as your next book on your ARC TBR!!!
Reason One: All three people, so far, loved book two! (I know, my clout is so large! Hearts!)
Reason Two: It's the Medusa I've always wanted to read about! A Protector, A Goddess, and a slow burn love story that defies prophecy!
Reason Three: I've just added it to BookSiren: https://booksirens.com/book/QPA9MQ4/I8B0B2R
Reason Four: My ARC team are truly book heroes that help motivate me when my brain is all over the place to focus and write the next book!
Reason Five: This out of context quote from Breaking Fate: "Who we are today is not who we will be tomorrow or the day after that. Even the most unassuming can influence those who change lives."
There are more reasons, but you already know them, since you're on the team already. Happy Reading! And I R hooman, so feel free to message anytime.

Breaking Fate's launch is on October 2nd 2024.
Death will take me, in its flames I will rise.
In a world of gods and monsters, prophecy and fate sway hearts and minds until a monster rises to rule them all, and darkness rises on Olympus.
Caught in a deal with the King of the Underworld, Medusa must learn to embrace her power and conquer the darkness in her own mind to protect the dark gods and free herself from the ties that bind her. Reconciling the truth of the past and accepting control over her future, she discovers the strings of fate aren't so easily unraveled. Hades and Poseidon play games with her life, but with the help of new and old allies she pushes to reclaim her destiny for herself. She just didn't expect her heart to play such a vital role in deciding what fate she fights for while the very lives of the deathless gods hang in the balance.
Dive into this slow-burn fantasy adventure with a romance that defies prophecy in this page-turning continuation of Medusa's untold story.
Using current known Greek myths as we know them and retelling them from Medusa’s perspective. After all, history is written by the victors, and the bards got the story all wrong. Poets were influenced by the reigning Olympians, and Medusa still lives and she's fighting through fate to become whole so she can save the very gods that wish to destroy her to keep the one who's stolen her heart.
A paranormal myth and legends adventure romance, plot with spice, that will have you flipping pages well past your bedtime to know what happens next as the dark gods rise up and prove being a hero is a matter of perspective and plot twists that will have you squirming for more.

ARCs are sent from Bookfunnel Certified ARC. Please search your SPAM folders or INBOX for an email from [email protected]
If you are on the BookSprout team, an email has been sent as this ARC is a private campaign for the S.M. McCoy Team.
I will be adapting the book to Audiobook for Audible, but this will not take place until September when my kids are in school, and I have more availability to record with no distractions. It is likely the book will be similar in length as book one, with around 11 audio hours.
Disclaimer due to many threads and social media about ARC teams.
I do not require anyone on my team to review. I do not want anyone to force themselves to read my book if they don't enjoy it. You are welcome to simply say the book is not for you and that does not disqualify you from rejoining a future team for a different book. No hard feelers. I do not control when you choose to review or how you choose to do so. Nor do I micromanage this team to bug you for your thoughts. This is why I have my teams opt-in, always.
I want cheerleaders on my team, people who want to be here and enjoy my writing.
I do email the team about updates, and reminders of upcoming dates and sharing of general news about reviews and stats of the launch of Breaking Fate. If you do not want to receive these updates, feel free to let me know and I will remove your email from this active ARC list. You are not added to my regular newsletter for being part of my team, though many of you are already part of my newsletter and joined my team from that.
If you choose to join my newsletter sent on Thursdays for my S.M. McCoy, you can choose to do so here: https://sendfox.com/SMMcCoy
If you choose to join my Alien Romance newsletter for Sky Robert, this is sent on Tuesdays and Fridays, you can join here and receive Her Alien Exchange for freesies, if you haven't already: https://books.steviemarie.com/heralienexchange
You can, at anytime, simply tell me you'd prefer only monthly, and I can manually add you to the monthly listing instead. (reply back with "I want to join your monthly newsletter!)
And a reminder, I R HOOMAN. Be not afraid to contact me at anytime. I will not be upset with you if you tell me that you are passing on reading the book because it's not right for you. That is okay. You want to bug me about how much you loved the book and you're upset that you have to wait for book three, that is also welcomed. You were shocked at the plot twist and you need to vent to someone that is okay with spoilers, I'm your girl. Go ahead and email away. You are a V.I.P. here, and I love to hear from you!
