Delayed Forbidden love turned spicy bear shifters for freesies
Forbidden love between an FMC fairy and a human MMC, magic, and spice for freesies
A little about me, I'm a mom of two humans in training. I'm a narrator for audiobooks when I'm not writing alien romances or fantasy romance under S.M. McCoy, I love watching K-dramas on Netflix, I just finished watching the Culinary Class Wars Korean cooking show, I rooted for White Spoon Chef Edward Lee from Iron Chef and Black Spoon Triple Star! I watch Hell's Kitchen or Master Chef with my other half... even though I absolutely hate cooking. I LOVE watching people cook and make wonderful foods, and seeing how passionate they are, but put me in the kitchen... no go, I've screwed up mac n' cheese many times. I also love anime, and really enjoyed the Netflix show Shaman King. I'm pretty much a homebody introvert type that unless you're talking about something like books, anime, Korean shows, or RPG games... I'm pretty quiet, or wishing I was home doing those things. I say things like, "Ah, man, they didn't salt the meat!" watching a cooking show but ask me to make something and I'll forget everything the moment I step foot in front of a stove.
I began Sky Robert in 2022 writing Jewel of the Alien Bandit and then writing Her Alien Exchange in November 2022 for NaNoWriMo. (It's really unfortunate what's going on with the organization these days, I do not support their views on A.I.) In 2023, was my official launch Jan 31st for Jewel of the Alien Bandit, and Her Alien Exchange was officially my freebie newsletter exclusive! (You can still read and grab Her Alien Exchange if you haven't already: https://books.steviemarie.com/heralienexchange)
In three months, January 2025, it will have been 2 years since launching alien romances! Two years, and 7 alien romances and 1 short story later!
1) Jewel of the Alien Bandit 2) Her Alien Exchange 3) Her Alien Prince 4) Her Alien Savior 5) Her Alien Warrior 6) Her Alien Insurgent 7) Her Alien Starbreaker (launching in the anthology Beyond Earth) 8) TKManAteHer -Short Erotic Terminator Sex Bot Romance
There's still 3 more months before the 2-year anniversary, but I'm pretty excited to know that my cash books (my accounting ledger) for my author journey, shows that I'm only 3,000 away from breaking even on my author business of Sky Robert! I'm not including my ledger for my fantasy romances under S.M. McCoy.
Her Alien Savior and Her Alien Prince have already broken even and they are helping to offset costs for the other books! Her Alien Warrior broke even on its first month of release, but then I commissioned character art for General Sou-el, so that book needs to pay back art costs to break even again.
This is the SFW version with his lab coat conveniently placed of Her Alien Warrior's General Sou-el! Art done by the wonderful Deborah Garcia
I don't believe my author business will break even and start paying me for my time by January 2025, historical data from the year before shows that there is a decline in alien romance read throughs during October-December. This is considered the alien romance off-season, at least for alien romances that don't specifically address the holidays.
I don't have any Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas themed books. I'll have to consider spending some time to create a few holiday standalones in order to help offset the lull this time of year from my books. Readers like to get into the holiday spirit, and unfortunately for me, I've just never picked up holiday themed books... ever. I mean, I'm not opposed to holiday books, I just don't seek them out. Something else about the story has to trigger my interest for me to pick it up.
Last year, I barely made $20 each month in October, November and December, and then it picked up again in January. It seems to be continuing a similar trend this year, as I have an extra few books since then, but October is only at $30 so far.
Buuuut, even though I'm not one of those authors that gets lucky on their first few book launches to suddenly find a bunch of their tribe flocking to them, I'm one of those resilient indie authors that keeps plugging away, building my tribe one book at a time, and by the time I have amassed enough lovely readers to actually pay myself a wage, I'll have a backlist of books for them to read!
It's a win-win.
A HUGE thank you to everyone on this newsletter, taking a chance to get to know me, to those that have read that free book Her Alien Exchange, and then those that are helping to support future books by sharing with other readers, grabbing my books, or reading with Kindle Unlimited.
It means a lot to me. Every time I check my KDP pages read in Kindle Unlimited I smile when I see someone is reading my books!
Thank you to whoever is reading Her Alien Insurgent today, and Her Alien Warrior!
That's at least TWO people reading today! Who knows, perhaps it's three or four people, if those pages are split up. I hope you enjoy the story!
Here's what some other readers have said about those books!
"I think Robert is doing something refreshing with her aliens – the world is complex and immersive, the technology fun and futuristic, and the mating culture takes center stage with these exhibition friendly space vampires " - Becky Her Alien Warrior
"Ok so here's the thing. The story of these books is amazing and I totally loved this one. But if you are looking for great story AND unique peen then OH MAN THIS ONE IS GOLD. " - Gleeful Goblin Her Alien Insurgent
All of my books are standalone alien romances, each a separate complete romance, read in any order, and with their interconnected plots, each book layers and you find out more about the world the more you read. Have questions from one book? Read another one, and you're sure to find more answers, and perhaps more questions as the universe unravels. That's what I love about sci-fi adventures set in the same universe, there's so much room to play!

Anthologies are created so that readers can take a chance and get to know new indie authors with low risk. You get 8 new sci-fi spicy romances for only 99 pennies! Authors don't do anthologies to make money, but to reach our reader tribe. In fact, each author pools in money together to join an anthology, and only 35cents of each anthology goes to authors, and the rest goes to the distribution channels, divided by 8 authors is around 4 pennies for each author, and we would have to reach 1,000 readers grabbing the book in order to breakeven on our costs of joining the anthology not including the time, marketing, or editing, we put into writing the stories! So, when you spot an anthology, consider it an opportunity to get to know some awesome indie authors and give it a try!
Her Alien Starbreaker is included in the anthology Beyond Earth, it's a full-length 40,000 word complete standalone alien romance with 3 spicy scenes 25% of the book has enjoyable steamy bits, and still includes the wonderful worldbuilding and interconnected plot from the Trillume Universe that you've grown to love!
