In recent weeks I've been horrified to learn that a group of Christian indie fiction authors are dealing with a serious legal issue involving their books being plagiarised. I'm talking about this problem here because readers are the best sleuths. A best selling author was alerted to the plagiarism issue by a reader who picked up the story similarities and reached out.
If you happen to read a book that feels off and has an almost identical storyline to a previous book you've read by a well known author, please don't ignore your concerns. Go back and check the book by the well known author to see if your hunch might be right. Please privately reach out to the well known author and share your concerns. They can do their own investigations and will be incredibly grateful if you have uncovered a plagiarism issue.
