Today we'll be talking about videos and how they are a key part of our courses. We will also be giving you a chance to take part in our Academy Survey where you could win £50 in Amazon vouchers. We also have details of the Launch Event.
Videos
Videos are a key part of each one of our courses in the Academy. These are designed and recorded especially for our courses. Videos can be quick introductions, demonstrations of key techniques or presentations supported by PowerPoint or Mentimeter which you can watch anytime, anywhere - a Netflix for psychotherapy CPD...!
You will be encouraged to pause the video at certain key moments to consider a specific point or to ask yourself 'what would I do in that clinical situation?' (you tend not to get that in Netflix!). One nice aspect is that in the quizzes if you select an answer that is incorrect you are immediately guided to the video that has the information to help you get the correct answer.
Most of the main course videos are organised into bite-size 15 minute segments to help you learn most effectively. Some clips are short (for example in the Summary videos that are used to pull together the key points in a Section or Lesson) with others slightly longer (eg going through a sequence of stages for a specific technique).
All videos can be watched on your mobile phone so there is real support for learning wherever is most convenient to you.

The Launch Event
To help celebrate the launch of the Academy and give everyone a chance to see how simple it all is to use, we will be hosting a special event on Sunday 3 July. (you will have early access on the 1 July however as a subscriber to this list). We will be giving away some discount vouchers you can use against courses and answering questions from everyone. This will be a free fun event but restricted to Practical CBT newsletter subscribers. The registration page can be accessed below. Places are limited so please book early.
