- Advanced Techniques
Sun 11 Aug 2024 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a distinctive empirically-based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, alongside commitment and behavior change techniques. A key objective is to work with the client to increase psychological flexibility. This focus on flexibility involves helping the client contact the present moment fully as a conscious human being.
However, the practical implementation of the approach can involve many challenges and choices for the therapist. The workshop will look at some of the contemporary approaches to enacting ACT which go 'beyond the basics'.
This workshop assumes a basic knowledge of ACT.
